5-star luxury hotel in a former magistrates' court in Covent Garden

Historic Setting

NoMad London is housed in the former Bow Street Magistrates' Court and police station building. The hotel sits steps from the Royal Opera House and a 2-minute walk from the Lyceum Theatre. Guests can access the on-site museum that details the building's history as a court and jail.

Dining

The hotel has three dining venues: the Twenty8 restaurant in a glass-roofed atrium, the Side Hustle bar serving tacos and Mexican cuisine, and the Library bar. Twenty8 offers British, American, and Mexican cuisines with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Breakfast includes fresh pastries and pancakes, while the Library bar serves cocktails in a space reserved for guests.

Services

The hotel provides a 24-hour front desk, concierge service, and private check-in and check-out. A fitness centre is available for guests, along with room service and a bar. Additional services include dry cleaning, laundry, and luggage storage.

Accessibility & Pets

The hotel offers wheelchair-accessible rooms with raised toilets, grab rails, and emergency cords in the bathroom. Pets are allowed, and the hotel provides pet baskets and pet bowls. The building has a lift, soundproof rooms, and facilities for disabled guests.

Guests consistently praise the Nomad London's fantastic location in Covent Garden, highlighting its proximity to theaters and shops while remaining an oasis of calm. The rooms are often described as spacious, particularly by London standards, and well-equipped, even boasting a clothes steamer, hair straightener, and a high-quality shower with excellent water pressure; some guests, however, found the lighting in the corridors too dark. The breakfast is also a highlight, with the egg sandwich and pancakes receiving special mention, and the gym offers a Peloton bike for fitness enthusiasts.

A Romantic Interlude

fantastic decor attentive staff good shower sweet treat
The hotel decor is fantastic I observed hospitable and attentive staff. The shower in my room had particularly good water pressure I noted. Custom baked treats for my little dog in the room were a sweet touch. The gym has three treadmills and a Peloton bike so my workout routine continued uninterrupted.
The single sink in the bathroom seemed a little inconvenient as I prefer two. It didn't affect the quality of my visit but it is something I noticed
